One questions remains: “With all this nervousness, how do I still manage to find the right words?”

Specifically: What do you say when you're getting engaged? 🤔

The good news is: Don’t you worry – We have some texts bites and ideas for you.

So you can easily get inspired and find the right words for your individual proposal. 💬

Here come our main recommendations for the introduction, main part and ending of your proposal.

And don’t forget one thing: Some hand written notes are the best preparation!

That will help you to not run out of words in the moment of all moments. 😎

Introduction: Engagement proposal text - Intro ❣️

Speak to your partner directly and look him or her directly in the eyes. If you usually use aromantic nickname, place it here, so for example:

“Dear Marie / My darling,

I am incredibly happy that you are here with me today. Because.... “

OR:

“Dear Thomas,

I have been looking forward to this day for so long and have been thinking about what I am gonna say to you. First of all, I am incredibly grateful that you share your life and love with me. I want to tell you once again how much I love you ....”

1. Declaration of love

Tell your partner how much you love him or her, what an incredibly important role he or she plays in your life and that you can't imagine your life without him or her. ❤️

For example: I've known and loved you for more than six years now. In that time, you have become (one of) the most important person in my life. I want to spend lots of future moments with you.

2. What I love about you

Tell your partner what you love most about him or her. What qualities do you value most?

For example: I love you because you have such a big heart, you help others and you’re always a huge role model for me. I admire you and I love being able to share my life with you.

3. Remembering experiences

Remind your partner of great moments you had together.

Maybe there was a special trip? A moment you tell about over and over again?

A "Remember that time when..." Moment?

This way you can take both of you onto a little journey through your relationship and create a lot of excitement for everything that is still ahead!

For example: "My love - we have already experienced so much together. We've been to London, Madrid and New York. We had so many laughs and unusual adventures. The best thing for me though: Even if we argue sometimes, I know exactly that we master every conflict. Because we’re a good team that compliments each other. I don't want to continue discovering the world with anyone else but you.”

The end: How to round it up 🥳

First of all, you need a nice transition from the main part to your ending. This can possibly look like:

"Darling, now I’ve got a very special question for today: ..."

"Love - are you ready for the next step? ..."

Of course, the end also includes the most important and central question:

“Will you marry me?”

Or: “Will you be my wife / husband?”

You can also think of whether it feels comfortable to add from the following ideas or use some of the following text bites:

“…and spend a great deal of our lives together?”

“…and create a wonderful future with me?”

“…and go "all in"?”

We hope you can take a big load of inspiration for your own proposal from these ideas.

With this in mind, have fun choosing your own personal words!
