For Jens and Ljubi, one of those moments probably was their marriage proposal in Tulum. With our help as a wedding proposal agency, their engagement became a unique experience that brought them even closer together as a couple.

Today, they’re happily married and generously shared some of their precious time to send through some thoughts and stories of their life after the proposal which we want to share with you. Because aren’t the love stories that make life worth living?

From Berlin to Tulum: A Surprising Change of Continents

“I still remember“, says Karina, Co-founder of BOW & ARROW Tulum, “How Jens contacted me for BOW & ARROW Berlin because he was considering to do a proposal there.”

“When I told him that I could only do calls in the afternoon because I am currently in Mexico, he shared that Ljubi, his girlfriend at that time, and him would travel to Mexico for holidays soon. We both laughed about the coincidence and surely took it as a sign to plan the proposal in Tulum. Jens agreed and the organizing began.“

When Jens decided to propose in Tulum, he had no idea how much being engaged would change their lives.

"We didn't think anything would change beforehand, but it changed a lot. We were so full of anticipation and couldn’t wait to get married," Jens recalls. "After just six months, in early May, the day finally arrived. On our journey to that day, we felt even closer, even more like two parts of a whole.“

Secrets and Serendipity: How the Proposal Came Together

The organization of the proposal involved a bit of secrecy. "I love telling the story of how we had to secretly call or text each other to organize the proposal," Jens laughs.

Since Jens had originally considered proposing in Berlin, but chose Tulum, it turned out to be the right decision. "I'm so happy we did it in Tulum. It was an incredibly romantic and unique experience that we’ll be talking about for the rest of our lives."

A Moment of Magic: The Proposal on Tulum's Beaches

And that moment was truly magical. When Jens took Ljubi by the hand at a prepared set-up on the beach, everything felt surreal.

The proposal took place in front of a beautifully decorated arch with so many flowers, and as a storm brewed in the heavens – it seemed as if the world around them stood still.

The high class dinner that followed at the venue’s restaurant completed the perfect evening. "We blocked out the whole world around us because, at that moment, there was only us," says Jens. "Each moment was beautiful on its own, but together, they created an unforgettable experience."

Love in Every Detail: The Personal Touches That Made it Special

For their first dance at the wedding, they chose the song "Stone Sour - Through Glass," and the stunning photos captured by our photographer Pablo, who documented the proposal, adorned their wedding invitations.

The memories of Mexico and their proposal will forever be intertwined with their love story.

Becoming One: A Deepening Bond After the Proposal

"The emotions were so different," Jens continues. "During the proposal, there was a lot of excitement and joyful surprise, but at the wedding, we truly became one.

Ljubi’s father put it perfectly when he said, ‘We share one heart.’ That sums it up so well."

Even 1.5 years after their wedding, that hasn’t changed. Their love has only grown deeper, and they are grateful to have each other, they shared with BOW & ARROW for the interview.

The stunning white beaches provide a picturesque backdrop, and there are so many ways to make the proposal truly special – whether it’s as intimate as ours, ceremonial, or even adventurous."

In the end, Jens says, "We are so glad you organized everything so perfectly for us. Everything was spot on and made this experience what it was."
